Lesson Series
The Armour of God
Ephesians 6:10–18
Six weeks, six pieces of armour, one big idea: God gives children everything they need to stand firm. Each lesson follows our usual eight-part structure — movement game, object lesson, discussion, craft and prayer — built around one piece of the armour and the truth behind it.
“Put on the full armour of God”
Paul doesn’t describe the armour piece by piece by accident — he lists it as a sequence, the way a soldier would actually get dressed. We’ve kept that order here, so if you’re running this as a full series, lessons 1–6 build in the order Paul gives them.
Belt of Truth
Ephesians 6:14
What holds everything else together. A lesson on why telling the truth — especially about ourselves — is the piece every other piece depends on.
Breastplate of Righteousness
Ephesians 6:14
Protecting the heart. Children explore what it means that our standing with God isn’t something we earn, but something we’re given — and wear.
Shoes of the Gospel of Peace
Ephesians 6:15
Ready to go. A lesson about being prepared to share good news wherever we’re standing, with a movement game built around “ready feet”.
Shield of Faith
Ephesians 6:16
Blocking what comes at us. Using the image of “flaming arrows”, this lesson helps children name doubts and fears and hold faith up against them.
Helmet of Salvation
Ephesians 6:17
Guarding the mind. A lesson on how what we believe about who we belong to shapes how we think — especially on the hard days.
Sword of the Spirit
Ephesians 6:17–18
The only piece that goes on the attack. Children learn a few key verses by heart and finish the series with a class prayer — the passage’s own final word.
